Come and experience the thrilling sport of sprint kayaking and develop your paddling skills.


Commencement of programme Saturday 21st June at Lakeland Forum, Enniskillen from 1pm – 4pm.


Weekly sessions will continue from Tuesday 24th June from 7pm – 8pm and 8pm – 9pm.


All sessions will be conducted by BCU qualified coaches and the programme is aimed at boys and girls aged 10 -14.


Registration £40 for first 5 sessions including club membership (£25 for club members) and £5 per session after. Registration is limited to 16 based on a 1:4 coaching ratio.

All Ireland Marathon Kayak National Championships 2014

Venue: The Lakeland Forum, Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh (same as 2012). Directions and maps can be found at www.lakelandforum.com. BT74 7BA.


Masters: aged 35 years or over on 1/1/2014.


Course: Deep calm waters of Lough Erne with mostly natural reeded banks. Courses of 12km (or more) will include the scenic and exciting loop of the town. Water suitable for understern rudders, however, shallows may be found along the banks or in proximity to bridge legs. Cruisers may be on the course.


Fees: £10 senior / £5 junior - per person per race. Novice race free.


Children: The Novice 2km race is a short race for children too young or inexperienced to do the 8km course – parents remain responsible for their safety, and paddlers must wear buoyancy aids and be able to swim.


Safety: Race briefing is required for all competitors – your own responsibility to attend. Rules of navigation must be adhered to. ICU safety rules apply. Neither the organisers nor the CANI/BCU/ICU accept responsibility for any damage or loss to persons or equipment. Castle Island – there is the option of camping on the Island opposite the forum – where the portage was in 2012, and should be again this year. This will be very ‘rough & ready’ camping with no access into the buildings/facilities. We hope to have a ‘portaloo’ on the Island but that’ll be it!

New courses for January to April 2012

These courses are greatly subsidised thanks to a Sport NI grant and will run at a token cost to participants.

We've tried to include something for everyone, so have a read down, choose the courses that suit you and book by returning this Booking Form as soon as possible.  It is important we fill as many of these courses as possible and make full use of the grant aid.  Please take advantage of this great offer, support your club and enjoy the opportunity to go canoeing and gain new skills under the expert guidance of our qualified coaches.

All sessions for club members only. New members must have completed the beginners pool course before any other sessions; unless through proven ability with a club coach. Two star or similar standard required for Introductory Surf, River, Sea, Open Canoe sessions.

Kayak Polo Pool Course  - fully booked
Enjoy the thrills and spills of Canoe Polo in the warmth and comfort of  Fermanagh Lakeland Forum Swimming Pool, starting on Thursday 5 January 2012 and continuing for 10 weeks.  The pool sessions will be followed by further sessions on open water outside the Forum.  All participants need to have completed the beginners’ pool course or have a similar level of competence.  Polo kayaks and equipment will be provided.

Note that you don’t have to be an advanced paddler or able to roll to play

Easy Day Trips - canoes and kayaks
Info:  An easy paddle in the club open boats and seakayaks.  The trip will be guided and with coaching as appropriate.  This is a great oppertunity to get out on the lake in a safe and friendly environment for an enjoyable days paddling.  Ideal for club members first open water paddle or for those looking to gain a litttle more experience.
Pre-requisites: Club membership and attended a club pool course or similar.
Kit: The club can provide kayaks/canoes, paddles, buoyancy aids and helments.  Please bring your own personal paddling wear (wetsuit or fleeces and waterproofs, hats, gloves, etc), spare warm dry clothes and a packed lunch.
Meeting: At the forum car park 10 AM, return by 4 PM latest.

Surf:
Date:  January 15th
Description: An intro to surfing a kayak or waveski at a safe beach lead by qualified and experienced coaches.  Erne Paddlers can supply general purpose kayaks, spraydecks, paddles, buoyancy aids and helmets but participants must have their own wetsuits or other suitable paddle kit for winter paddling.
Pre-requisites: No surf experience is necessary and this is a great opportunity for club members to enjoy their first surf or develop their surfing skills.
Meeting: At the forum car park 9:00 AM or Rossnowlagh Car Park, 10:30 AM, Return by 6 PM latest.

For those interested in taking up or just trying out the fantastic watersport of KAYAKING in a relaxed and safe, indoor environment.

A good introduction course from the basics and advancing - foundation of skills and confidence. Pool Course achievement certificate awarded.

Tuesday nights -  club open session

For all members who have completed a pool course as a minimum requirement.

These are non-coached pool session to allow competent paddlers to pracitse their skills, rollling, etc. A volunteer qualified coach will be there to cover safety
Dates: Initially two days to start up - 1st and 3rd of November - book early pay on night.

6 week course: Tuesdays, November 8th, 15th, 22st and 29th, followed by December 6th and 13th

Autumn Beginner's Pool Course - Lakeland Forum

Erne Paddlers' popular pool course is running again this autumn.
Due to the numbers of people asking to join the club, we will only be taking in novice paddlers through the pool course.
If you want to join the club and are new(ish) to paddling this is the course for you - book soon to avoid disappointment.

Description of event Enjoy a relaxed canoe trip on Upper Lough Erne.  This paddle trip is open to families, clubs, and paddlers of all ages and abilities and can be done in any type of craft. The days paddle will be relaxed, with a few breaks and pleasant lunch stop in the middle. You are welcome to bring your own equipment or alternatively it can be provided free of charge on request when booking.  So whether you’re an old pro or keen novice sign up now for what is sure to be a fun filled day floating on the river.  For further details please visit the CANI website www.cani.org.uk

Canoes, Paddles and Buoyancy aids can be booked (free of charge) with CANI for the trip.

All children must be accompanied by an adult/guardian during this event.

All small children must have their own Buoyancy Aid that fits.
