Pre-req's: Beginner and Kids courses - no previous experience necessary. Rolling, Polo and general members pool sessions - must have completed a previous club course or similar. i.e. basic kayaking skills required. We require all members to compete a beginners course before taking part in lake, river and other club trips. Juniors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Maximum 12 kayaks Any Spare places on the night at £7.50 | Junior River Days Erne Paddlers is going to join in with CANI Junior River Days programme, overseen by Rodger Hamilton, CANI's Clubs Officer and L5 coach. It is a programme where a few clubs will join forces for training and mentoring over 5 sessions and in between these specific sessions (one per month) the individual clubs will advance their kids in skills through practice in the lough / pool time / river time perhaps on a weekly basis.
The schedule will involve an initial river based training day for coaches where Rodger shows us current best practise for working with kids. Then on 6 subsequant days ( one per month ) Roger will mentor our river leaders and kids as we continue to introduce river skills to them. On these specific river days - we will team up with another club and deliver the programme. The kids keep their skills up on a weekly basis at club sessions, including time in the pool.
